It’s that time of year again, Father’s Day!
I talk more about Father’s Day on the SAHDPod – it will be posted on Father’s Day so check that out.
What I want to talk about here is the father movement this year. It seem like every year goes above and beyond the year before. The L.A. Dads group had a pre-Father’s Day event for dads. We were lucky enough to have Movember allow us to host this event at their headquarters in Culver City – which I have to tell you was NICCCCE – If you are not familiar with Movember, they are a global charity Foundation committed to men living happier, healthier, longer lives. Since 2003, millions have joined the men’s health movement, raising $715 million and funding over 1,000 projects focusing on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and physical inactivity. They are really an amazing foundation.
We also were lucky enough to get Dove Men+Care to sponsor the food, that was so delicious! I know my readers are familiar with Dove Men+Care they are huge supports of fathers all year long. Each year they create amazing campaigns each year to help change the way fathers are viewed in society. This year they out did themselves and came out with videos that will tug on your heart strings – this year their Real Strength campaign is “Real Care makes a dad a hero”.
You can also do a hashtag search for #RealStrength and find all kind of other dads sharing their real dad moments being hero’s in everyday situations.
This is one of my favorites!
If you want to post your ‘hero’ quote and a pic, please do so and use #RealStrength, tag @ladadsgroup and @dovemencare so we can all share how fathers are hero’s in our everyday life.
I hope all the fathers out there have a very happy Father’s Day!
Disclosure Note: Dove Men+Care did sponsored event for the L.A, Dads Group, for which I am very thankful for. Other than that, I was not compensated for this post, this is my way of showing my thanks and support! #ad
