I do my best to remember, since it is so easy to forget, that I am so fortunate. I have an amazing wife that puts up with my craziness and gave me the two most incredible, amazing and healthy sons. She stands by me when I am falling apart and helps me stand back up. Without her busting her ass at her job for us, me being a stay at home dad would not be possible. I am so thankful to her for for everything, especially our boys.
I had decided to blog about our experiences early on. I have not had as much time as I would like to do so, but I am getting there, chasing my 3 & 2 year old, doesn’t leave me a lot of time! I am not sure how I got lucky enough to have been connected with some of the most amazing bloggers. These people are truly amazing! Living in LA has given me the opportunity to meet some of these bloggers in person: Charlie Capen from How to be a Dad, Whit Honea (Honea Express), David Vienna from The Daddy Complex and Zach Rosenberg from 8 bit dad just to name a few. If you are not familiar with these guys, you have to check them out! If I could be half the bloggers they are, I would consider myself a success!
Then there are too many for me to mention from the communities I am a part of online. Great people like Eric Boyette of Dad on the Run, and Don Jackson of Daddy Newbie. The support you can find, sharing incredible experience along with being able to rant about something and have others there who understand!
Through these groups I have been introduced to other amazing people, such as Jim Higley from
I have also become a co-organizer for LA Dads group here in LA. It is amazing to be a part of something that is so great, growing and evolving.
I am so grateful and thankful for all the opportunities that have come my way. I am happy to be able to be a SAHD today, to be a small voice of many voices. It is incredible to be a part of a huge change in the way things happen today and how what we are doing today will change the world tomorrow. I have had the pleasure of doing international interviews along with interviews right here in our backyard. I was on the Hallmark Channel’s show “Home and Family” with Jim and Whit. It was such a truly amazing experience, to be part of a round table discussion about stay at home dads was a incredible. I was honored, really I am still the rookie of the bunch. I have only been doing this for three years!
It all happens so fast, and yet I can overlook and forget what an amazing experience it all is! I am working on blogging more often, and sharing my experiences as a SAHD. I am looking forward to meeting more awesome people, and sharing my journey and experiences of being a SAHD! I can not image what it will be like a year or even two or more years from now, I just hope I can continue to learn, grow and share!
