Welcome to the Jungle… Book in 3D!

I wasn’t excited to go to a 3D movie for a few reasons, such as, I didn’t want to wear the glasses and I didn’t think my boys would wear those glasses for the whole movie.

Was I ever wrong! Jungle Book, my first 3D movie since I was a kids, and back then with the red/blue glasses whoa! What a difference it is now!

The LA Dad’s Group was invited by IMAX® Entertainment & Walt Disney Pictures to an exclusive advance screening event of Disney’s The Jungle Book in IMAX® 3D! It was enthralling!

My youngest is fours years old, there were scenes that were pretty intense for him. My oldest at five years old however, loved it all! I do have to say he loves scary movies and Halloween, so he is not as effected by the intense scenes.  This Film is rated PG and recommended for children 5 and over, so please keep that in mind.

Now from the start, you become a part of the movie. I love the 3D experience, running with the animals and through the grass and trees – I was hooked. The glasses weren’t distracting as I thought they would be. My boys even did an amazing job with their glasses. They don’t even wear sun glasses, so I am still amazed!

Don’t worry, I can’t really spoil the movie for you, because they do a good job of following the original, but the graphics and entertainment value are through he roof! Both of my son’s love the whole movie, if I ask for their favorite “scene” they will tell you – Kaa’s (the python) scene, and still talk about it today! I never really paid attention to who the voice actors were before watching it, so when Baloo entered and rescues Mowgli, I was thrilled! Billy Murry is just awesome! All of the voice actors did a great job, but then you have others like Christopher Walken, how could you go wrong with mega stars like that!

I highly recommend this movie, they did a great job of pulling you in and telling a story that will take you on the roller coaster of emotions – well of course – it is Disney! I would recommend getting lost this 3D, it is a fun ride!

I want to give a special thanks to IMAX for providing our group an excellent night out at the movies! We had 50 dads and kids there that night, I know everyone had an amazing time. It is always great to be able to share an experience like this with everyone, and we all  appreciate you sharing it with us!

If you haven’t seen Jungle Book yet, I recommend it – and I also give the 3D a thumbs up!

Disney’s The Jungle Book in IMAX® 3D is now in IMAX theatres.

About The Jungle Book:

Directed by Jon Favreau (“Chef,” “Iron Man,” “Elf”), based on Rudyard Kipling’s timeless stories and inspired by Disney’s classic animated film, “The Jungle Book” is an all-new live-action epic adventure about Mowgli (newcomer Neel Sethi), a man-cub who’s been raised by a family of wolves. But Mowgli finds he is no longer welcome in the jungle when fearsome tiger Shere Khan (voice of Idris Elba), who bears the scars of Man, promises to eliminate what he sees as a threat. Urged to abandon the only home he’s ever known, Mowgli embarks on a captivating journey of self-discovery, guided by panther-turned-stern mentor Bagheera (voice of Ben Kingsley), and the free-spirited bear Baloo (voice of Bill Murray). Along the way, Mowgli encounters jungle creatures who don’t exactly have his best interests at heart, including Kaa (voice of Scarlett Johannsson), a python whose seductive voice and gaze hypnotizes the man-cub, and the smooth-talking King Louie (voice of Christopher Walken), who tries to coerce Mowgli into giving up the secret to the elusive and deadly red flower: fire. The all-star cast also includes Lupita Nyong’o as the voice of the fiercely protective mother wolf Raksha, and Giancarlo Esposito as the voice of wolf pack’s alpha male Akela. “The Jungle Book” seamlessly blends live-action with photorealistic CGI animals and environments, using up-to-the-minute technology and storytelling techniques to immerse audiences in an enchanting and lush world.
